Fair Weather Bikers

I have finally finished the diary of our tour of the Pyrenees.

I am in the process of moving web host, and in the next few days there may be a period of down-time while things get transferred across.

We had a very successful tour of the Pyrenees - details will follow.

Well we're off touring again. I liked Spain so much last year that I decided I wanted to go back again this year. Originally it was going to be me, Nig and Daz, but Nig has dropped out so it's just me and Daz. I will be updating the touring section with our plans soon.

Not bike related really but I thought it justified making the news; Yesterday the company where I work, Networx Recruitment, paid for everybody to have a trackday driving supercars! I got to drive a Ferrari 360, Lamborghini Gallardo and Aston Martin DB9 really fast around the track at Elvington. Then I got a passenger ride with a race driver in an Ariel Atom! It was an amazing day, topped off by a meal with cocktails and a night in a hotel all paid for by Networx. I did overdo it a bit with the cocktails though so I'm feeling a bit delicate today! Jane and I did a trackday at Croft today. I had a blast, but Jane found it a very tricky track to get her head around - to her credit she stuck at it though and I thought she did very well. The weather was very kind to us (which apparently is a rarity at Croft!), and Small Boy Trackbikes were excellent as always.

I've really not been into my biking this year. But this morning I got up to a glorious sunny day - so I decided to get my arse in gear and do some riding.

I had a real blast - did around 210 miles and the vast majority of that was on fun twisty roads. I first rode upto Ambleside in Windermere, then onto Coniston, Grange-over-sands, over to Hawes in the Dales, onto Layburn, Rippon and finally home via Otley Moor. I was knackered by the end of it and it took ages to clean the bike and my lid, but I loved every minute of it. I would also like to thank all the lovely people on the road - I've never known such good manners!

Today was a memorial ride for Mark. It turned out to be a very good day. The weather was fantastic, load of folk turned up, the roads were good and we finished it all off with nice bacon sandwiches. What more could you ask for!

Nig got some new pipes for his awesome ZZR this week.

Daz came round today to show off his lovely new bike - a Kawasaki ZRX1200.
