Day 14 - Friday 16th July

Surprisingly we both woke early and were ready to go for breakfast at 7:45. We went down to the dining room only for the owner to say "You're early, breakfast isn't until 8am. I guess I can get you a coffee though". Very odd!

Anyway the breakfast was fine and the staff were friendly enough I guess. They were very good leaving the key outside the night before after all.

After breakfast we packed the bikes and set-off on the ride home at around 9:30. Luckily the rain had cleared up and we were treated to clear blue skies.

As with the journey down we stopped every 50 miles so the riding didn't get too tedious. In what seemed like no time at all we covered the 280 miles getting home for mid afternoon.

So that was then end of another successful trip. To sum up:

  • We were very lucky with the weather and saw some truly amazing sights. A lot of which I want to go back to.
  • I said it last year and I'll say it again - the key, for me at least, to enjoying a trip like this is to keep the miles down.
  • The French authorities did their best to ruin our trip with their bloody resurfacing, but we didn't let them win!
  • Spain is still my favourite biking country.
  • Never tour without GPS - I think I even won over Daz on this point.
  • It took around a week for the world to stop feeling like I was still on the ferry!
  • I do need to pack more t-shirts next time!
