Day 5 - Wednesday 7th September
We woke up to another very wet morning, so we were in no hurry to get going. We had a leisurely breakfast to try and combat our hang-overs and packed the bikes. After a brief stop for (very expensive) petrol we set off. Again there was no mist, so we still were enjoying fantastic views despite the weather.

Initially our route took us east along the coast for a while before we turned south and headed inland. All the roads were single track and all of them very enjoyable. The only thing spoiling it was my monster hang-over!

At around mid-day we stopped at a nice cafe by a small lake and I got the home-made soup and a bread roll. This sorted me right out and I felt a lot better. To match my state of mind, the weather also improved and the sun came out.

Around 10 miles from Inverness we came upon a vantage point half way up a hill so we stopped and brewed up a cuppa. It was very pleasant although very windy!

From there the ride to Inverness was very smooth and uneventful - the bed and breakfast is one we'd both stopped in before so we knew it was a lovely place. We unloaded the bikes and chilled out. Nig fell asleep on his bed so I decided to have a walk into Inverness. I wandered around for a bit and then saw God of War for the PSP (I'd obviously brought mine - I wasn't going without games for a week!) for £7 so bought it and returned to the B & B. The game is very good!
Nig eventually woke up and we went into Inverness for some food and a few beers. We ended up in a pub very near Baz Packers which is a youth hostel. The pub was the busiest pub I've ever seen! We had a few beers but not too much as we both fancied a quieter night than the previous night.
