Day 7 - Friday 9th September

We had a lovely breakfast and then set off. It was another wet start – but we were well used to that by now!

Our first stop was Killmahog to take pictures of Hamish the highland cow. While we were taking pictures a couple from the USA pulled up and started taking pictures of each other - we offered to take one of them both and got chatting. They were from Nevada so the rain was a nice break for them. The guy was amazed we were touring on our bikes in this weather!

After Killmahog it was a fairly short stint to the motorway which we followed until we were south of Edinburgh. Once off the motorway the weather started to brighten up. We parked up in Jedborough for a coffee by which time the weather had improved enough for us to remove our waterproofs.

We had a nice ride from that point on to the Scotland / England border where we stopped for a few pictures. Then it was a short blast to our B & B in Northumberland.

The B & B was a very nice large old farmhouse which had been converted to a B & B. We pulled up and the owner came out and moved her car from their garage so we could park our bikes inside, ensuring they were dry and secure - very nice people!

We chilled out for a bit at the B & B and then had a wander into the town. There was a very nice pub in the town were we had a lovely meal and a few beers.

Normally we'd have ridden straight home from Scotland but it was so much nicer breaking up the journey and stopping in Northumberland.
