Day 11 - Tuesday 5th August
We decided we'd find a nice cafe somewhere for breakfast, so we packed the bikes and headed off. It wasn't very long before we found an amazing spot on the side of a valley and had a superb breakfast.'
On this day we had a lovely ride to the Vosges region in France. Somewhere I'd been told lots about and was very much looking forward to seeing.
This was a 120km ride on pretty nice roads. The weather was overcast but it was not cold and stayed dry. The scenary was stunning, as it had been for most of this trip.
Near the border between France and Germany we found a large war memorial which we stopped at and had a look around.
The ride to the campsite was very enjoyable and we arrived around 2pm.
There wasn't a lot to do at the campsite, the region was a skiing resort and most things were closed as it was out of season. We had a walk about the local area before returning to the tents and chilling out.
Nig bought a bottle of wine from the local shop, and Daz and I got a couple of beers. At night it dropped pretty cold, so we didn't have a very late night.
