Day 14 - Friday 8th August

We woke to a nice day, if a little chilly. We packed the bikes and set off, looking for somewhere for breakfast. We found a lovely hotel which did a wonderful breakfast.

It's always bitter sweet when you are reaching the end of a tour. On one hand you want to get back to all your home comforts, like hot showers and comfy beds, but on the other what is better than getting up and riding where-ever you want each day?

Today we were having a blast across to Bruges. This was around 280km of mostly motorways. Not the most fun riding but not hard work either.

The miles slipped by. We had a few stops for coffee and to stretch our legs. There were a few showers, but nothing too bad.

We found our hotel pretty easily. I had hunted for one with a garage, mainly for security, but it was nice to get the bikes out of the rain.

It was around 3pm by the time we'd got checked in to the hotel and sorted our gear out. I did a bit of repacking so my luggage was ready for the ferry - bsaically ensuring I had everything in my tankbag that I needed.

We headed into Bruges for a look around. It's a lovely city and it was very busy. After a bit of sightseeing we found a nice bar for some food and then had a few beers (read a lot!).

Daz and I ended up leaving Nig to it as he was clearly enjoying himself, but me and Daz were knackered. I honestly have no idea what time Nig rolled in!
