Day 5 - Wednesday 30th July

We awoke to very cloudy muggy morning, so we decided we'd pack up quickly while everything was still dry and find a nice cafe somewhere to have breakfast. We found a lovely spot where we could sit outside but undercover and had a great breakfast as the rain started to pour.

On our way out of the Czech Republic we had to stop as Nig was running low on tobacco. We went into a very strange market where they tried to sell us massive knives and assault rifles! Everybody seemed pretty dodgy so it was quite nice to leave the place!

It wasn't long until we hit the border and crossed into Austria. The scenary continued to be amazing and the weather wasn't too bad - just heavy showers every now and then.

I'd planned a surprise for the lads; I had heard of an electric motorcycle company called Johammer and I'd noticed our route took us passed their factory. I decided to pop in on the off chance we'd see the bikes.

The factory was in the middle of an industrial estate and there was nobody about when we pulled up. As we wandered about I saw an open building with a load of the bikes in a row so we wandered in to have a look. At this point somebody saw us and asked us what we were doing. I explained we were just touring about and I'd heard about them and wanted to pop in to see the bikes. The guy was super nice and helpful and showed us round the factory and then wheeled one of the bikes out. He showed us all the cool features, such as a pop out front mud guard, all the dashboard being embedded into the mirrors.

Then he asked if we wanted a go! I couldn't believe our luck. He did ask us to promise not to drop it as they were a lot of money, but he let us ride them up and down the little road outside the factory. The bike was odd as the centre of gravity was very low, but you could feel the torque. I bet they are pretty cool to ride on the open road. The guy said he would have took us for a ride if the weather had been better! It was an awesome experience and I cannot thank Johammer enough for making us so welcome.

After leaving Johammer we continued heading south west through on pretty good roads to our campsite. Again the campsite was lovely, on the side of a very picturesque lake.

Luckily the weather had improved by the time we got the campsite and it was quite warm and dry. We got set-up then chilled out around the tents for a bit before heading into town to find something to eat.

We had a very nice meal and a few beers before retiring to the tents as the rain started to fall again. I soon fell asleep listening to the rain gently tapping on the tent.
