Day 6 - Thursday 31st July

We woke to heavy rain, which wasn't great for motivating us to get going! Eventually we managed to pack up the very wet tents and we decided we'd find somewhere warm and dry for breakfast. We had a short ride into the nearest down and found a lovely bakery where we had coffee and cakes which improved our moods massively.

Today we were heading for the Grossglockner which is the highest mountain in Austria. The road over it is meant to be amazing.

The weather didn't let up all day, so we kept to large main roads and dual carragways.

We had planned on camping again that night, but we decided we'd find a B and B near the base of the mountain to allow us to dry the gear. As we pulled into a town called Wolflern we found a nice looking place. The start of the mountain road was only a couple of miles further so it was perfect.

The rain eased off shortly after we'd unpacked so we had a look round the town. It was a nice quiet small town, perfect for what we needed. We had a meal at the hotal and then Daz and I chilled in the room reading.

Nig got very bored and went for a walk, found a bar and had a few beers and to be honest, looking back, I wish I'd joined him!
